About the event
Artist Trading Cards were originally used in the past by artists to give to prospective customers, a bit like the business cards of today, except they were miniature originals. Today, Artist Trading Cards tend to be swapped amongst artists for fun, or still given to prospective clients as small gifts.
Introduced to our little group of four last year by local visual Artist Kristy LeBlanc who truly enjoys working on a small scale, the ATC group meets monthly to swap cards designed to match a theme picked by the artists who take turns hosting the swap meeting.
This show represents almost 2 years’ worth of miniature art designed on cards 2.5”x3.5” in size, typically, but not always, using playing cards coated in gesso.
Cards are often stored in card collection album, displayed in small frames or used in other art.
